Outreach

Social Concerns

Throughout the year, Trinity participates in activities that focus on caring for those in our community who are in need. Regular events include:

Food collection projects such as “Souper Bowl Sunday”, Lenten food bags and Thanksgiving baskets. The collected foods have been donated to the food pantries of Lutheran Social Services and Central City Lutheran Mission, as well as to Genesis House and local families in need.

School Supply project—Backpacks and school supplies are collected and assembled in the fall for students in the community. Previous recipients have been the children at the Genesis House shelter and the after-school program at Central City Lutheran Mission.

Tree of Giving—gifts of clothing, books, toys and household items are collected and given to families in need.

Shawl Ministry

Anyone interested in knitting or crocheting a shawl can join this group for fellowship on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Beginners are welcome and assistance is provided as needed. Completed shawls are given to individuals as tangible expressions of love and prayers.

For more information on any of the above outreach programs, please contact the church office.
